A Step by Step Guide to get Chocolate Stains out of Clothes:
Chocolate is a delicacy that we all enjoy. But it can sometimes leave unwanted stains on our clothes. Sometimes, chocolate can make the situation worse by causing the stain to set and get harder to remove. The good news is that there are some easy and effective ways to get rid of these stains.
Chocolate stains can be difficult to remove from clothes and surfaces. Luckily for you, we have 5 easy steps for you to follow and get rid of these chocolate stains off your clothes.
First, you’ll need:
1. Butter knife or spoon
2. Liquid detergent or dish soap
Step 1: Scrape off the chocolates
The first thing you’ll need to do is to scrape off as much chocolate and as close to the fabric as possible using a butter knife or a spoon. This will help prevent the stain from spreading all over throughout the removal process.
Step 2: Rinse with cold water
Run the stained fabric under cold water. This will help loosen as much of the chocolate as possible from the material fibers and make it easier for the detergent (in the next step) to pull out any remaining stains.
Step 3: Apply detergent
Apply a small amount of liquid dish soap to the chocolate stain and gently rub it in with your fingers to loosen it up. You can also use a laundry detergent in conjunction with dish soap. Let the detergent sit for 5 minutes to soak into the fabric.
Step 4: Soak and rinse in cold water
After rubbing the chocolate stain with detergent, soak the clothing in cold water for 15-20 minutes. Then, thoroughly rinse the stained area until all the stain that you can see is removed.
You can also use a toothbrush to scrub at stubborn stains for up to 5 minutes before you wash them again with cold water and laundry detergent. If you can still see the stain after soaking, repeat steps 2 and 3 and soak again.
Step 5: Wash and air dry
Finally, wash the garment in a washing machine. Before placing it in the dryer, make sure that the chocolate stain is completely gone, to avoid making the stain permanent. You might also want to air dry it for the best results. Repeat this step if the strain is still not gone, waiting to use the dryer until the stain is completely removed.
